AUG 30- Katrina livid with Deepika’s comments about Ran-Kat’s Spain holiday pics and it’s not only personal.
It’s tough for two actresses to be friends. And if one is dating the other’s former boyfriend then it is next to impossible. Actually, impossible! So the reports of Katrina Kaif and Deepika Padukone’s rising rivalry is hardly a surprise to Bollywood insiders.
In the current scenario it started when Deepika made a comment on the paparazzi culture vis-a-vis Ranbir-Katrina’s beach holiday pics in Spain which surfaced in the media recently.
Deepika at the press conference had said, “Such a thing has never happened to me.” She went on to add, “If you are a public figure such things are bound to happen and you cannot blame anybody for it.
If I am a public figure and if I don’t want to be captured in a certain way it becomes my responsibility to be careful.”
Obviously Deepika’s above comments did not go down too well with Katrina. According to a source Katrina was heard saying that Deepika should keep her words of wisdom to herself. Katrina felt that a similar paparazzi attack could hit Deepika in the future because she too is dating another actor, in this case it happens to be Ranveer Singh, her co-star from Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film Ram Leela.
Well while there is truth to what Katrina has to espouse on Deepika, things aren’t that simple. It’s not just about those comments at a press conference which made Katrina make a dig at her current boyfriend’s former girlfriend.
It can’t be ignored that Deepika clearly is Katrina’s strongest rival along with Priyanka Chopra. Kareena Kapoor and Vidya Balan have comfortably moved on to the married actress league.
Deepika’s last four films Cocktail, Race 2, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and Chennai Express have been super hits.
That Deepika is the only actress whose films have amassed a collection of Rs.500 core in a single year is no mean feat, something Katrina is going to have a tough time to match. Simply because the senior actress has no release lined up this year.
Deepika has Ram Leela and Kochadiyan with superstar Rajnikant.
The coming days look very bright for Deepika. She has in her kitty Farha Khan’s Happy New Year opposite Shah Rukh Khan and will most certainly be doing Imtiaz Ali’s next film with none other than Ranbir Kapoor. According to rumours Katrina had tried her best to ask Ranbir to persuade Imtiaz to cast her in the film with her boyfriend. Alas that didn’t happen!
Looks like now Katrina is only going to get more insecure about Ranbir in the future when he shoots with Deepika for Imtiaz’s film. And didn’t Ranbir-Deepika proclaim aloud during the promotions of YJHD that though they had moved on and were no longer a couple they are still good friends. Ouch!
