ALOR SETAR, Sept 10 – Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Mukhriz Tun Dr Mahathir will take into consideration his friends’ opinions before deciding on whether or not he will contest for vice-presidency at the Umno election in October.
“Many of my friends have been giving me their opinions (about me contesting for vice-presidency) and I’m taking into consideration all the aspects of the idea.
“At the moment, it is difficult to make a decision,” he said when asked to comment on a survey carried out by a social blog which revealed that he was leading other potential candidates with 85 per cent in popularity.
Mukhriz was met after presenting his personal donation and tithe from Kedah Tithe Department to 35 Kedah-born students who would leave to pursue their studies in three universities in Jordan.
The menteri besar said although he was aware of the survey findings, he would not let it get to his head, as his duty to develop Kedah would always remain on top of his priority lists.
