KOTA BAHARU, December 16 – PAS today hit out at the DAP, suggesting that the latter leave the Pakatan Rakyat (PR) pact if it is uncomfortable with the PAS struggle to implement ‘hudud’ laws.
Kelantan Deputy Menteri Besar Datuk Mohd Amar Nik Abdullah said the DAP could leave the pact if it was not convinced of an opposition pact victory in the 14th General Election if hudud was implemented in Kelantan.
“We (PAS) will not leave the opposition pact. If it (DAP) feels the opposition pact cannot win the general election, it can leave at any time.
“We have no problem with that, and we will not change our struggle (to implement hudud); we will not sacrifice our struggle just to win seats in the election,” he told reporters at his office here.
Mohd Amar, who is the Kelantan PAS deputy commissioner, was commenting on a statement by DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng yesterday that PR must make a clear stand that the opposition pact will not implement hudud laws if it wins the next general election.
