PETALING JAYA, Feb 9 — Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s “last” speech tonight before the Federal Court verdict on the opposition leader’s final appeal against his sodomy conviction and jail sentence, tomorrow, drew a small crowd.
Entitled “Rakyat Hakim Negara, Amanat Anwar”, the event held at 9pm at Padang Timur, here, failed to attract people.

Among the leaders present were PKR president Datuk Seri Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, Selangor Menteri Besar Mohamed Azmin Ali, PKR vice-president Rafizi Ramli and DAP adviser Lim Kit Siang.
The de facto PKR leader was charged with sodomising his former aide, Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan, at a condominium in Bukit Damansara, Kuala Lumpur on June 26, 2008.
The Kuala Lumpur High Court had acquitted Anwar in 2012, but the decision was overturned by the Court of Appeal last year, sentencing him to a five-year jail term.
A five-man bench of the Federal Court, chaired by Chief Justice Tun Arifin Zakaria, will tomorrow announce the verdict on Anwar’s final appeal against his conviction and sentence.
