android-5_650-2_031615124611New Delhi, March 16 – Google has acknowledged there was a major memory leak issue in the android 5.1 Lollipop. The tech giant has not cited any strong reason for this, but it seems the bug is still haunting the android 5.0 Lollipop.

However, the memory leak issue is not affecting all the devices and is limited s Google Nexus 5 and Google Nexus 6. Some users have posted on social networks and other websites that a memory leak issue in the Android 5.1 update causes apps to crash and even fills device’s memory.

One user wrote on the issue tracker, “I woke up this morning and noticed that Gmail was laggy. I checked the RAM and it reported 800 MB used. I cleared all open apps and it still the same. Restart [fixed] it of course. This was the only fix that I was looking forward to in the 5.1 update.”

Google took no time in admitting the issue in the latest android version. A Google project member said, “This has been fixed internally. We do not currently have a timeline for public release.” Another incremental update in the Android 5.1 (possibly Android 5.1.1) is expected anytime in the coming days.
