When contacted by ‘selliyal.com’, newly elected branch chairman Sunther Subramaniam confirmed the withdrawal.

“Yuvaraj’s father (late) Mr G.Pachiapper and my father (Tan Sri S.Subramaniam) were close political allies for many years. In that spirit and for the sake of our branch congress both of us had a heart-to-heart talk and decided to work together. I thank Yuvaraj for his cooperation and henceforth we will work together in the interests of the party and community. I will also seek his views in our future efforts undertaken by our branch congress” Sunther told ‘selliyal.com”

With the withdrawal of Yuvaraj, Sunther will be unanimously elected as Chairman of MIC Old Klang Road branch, located in Seputeh division.

SUNTHERAbout two weeks ago, Sunther declared his support for Datuk Seri G.Palanivel in the leadership struggle in MIC and said he would always remain loyal to Palanivel. However, he surprised MIC circles when he submitted for his branch nominations on the 12th of July under the leadership of Datuk Seri Dr Subramaniam.

Sunther, son of former MIC Deputy President Tan Sri Datuk S.Subramaniam, was nominated and appointed as a CWC member in 2013 by then MIC President Datuk Seri G.Palanivel.

Later, Sunther contested and won as a CWC member under Palanivel’s line-up in the 2013 party elections which was subsequently declared null and void by the Registrar of Societies (RoS).

Recently, Sunther was appointed again into the 2009 CWC by Palanivel.
