Kuala Lumpur – MIC Youth leader C.Sivarraajh (pic) has slammed the Penang State government and the respective DAP policies which are only aimed at helping the urban population.
“PKR Penanti assemblywoman Dr Norlela Ariffin was overcome with emotion and broke down in tears after begging for funds from the Penang State government to resolve problems in the Malay villagers that she represents. But the funds are all moving away to urban areas – where the DAP draws most of it support. She was left with no choice but breaks down and cries. She was overcome with emotions at the injustice done to her, year-after-year in the budget when villagers get little allocation” Siva said.
“It shows the calloused and hard-nosed policies that the DAP practices. She spoke up accusing the Penang government of failing to address concerns she had raised. Dr Norlela grew frustrated and said that the state was not giving her answers to the concerns of her constituents. Norlela had been raising issues affecting residents of rural Penanti kampongs, such as floods and the lack of public infrastructure for roads and others like home stay programmes” he said further.
Sivarraajh also stated as follows in his statement:
“DAP is supposed to be a social democratic party that listens… I spoke for an hour and the only one who listened was Padang Kota,” she said, referring to local government, traffic management and flood mitigation exco Chow Kon Yeow (DAP).
“I waited every day until the winding up speeches. These are the answers I am getting. What do I tell the village folks? “When are we going to see high-impact projects? Does the state not care about the people of Permatang Pauh, who Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has spent his life defending? “I fail to understand why the state refuses to understand and refuses to listen,” she said, losing her cool.
Datuk Roslan Saidin (BN-Pinang Tunggal) expressed sadness at the plight of Dr Norlela and rightly so.
He too represents rural folks who have got nothing from the state government.
DAP should be ashamed of itself to allow one of its own allies to breakdown and cry.
It goes to show how it only represents urban areas and totally neglects rural areas like that of Dr Norlela.
It goes against all that the party has been preaching in its many Impian campaigns where it brings development to backward areas.
It’s a false campaign to hoodwink the people and only get their votes.
For people like Dr Norlela who knows and have been frustrated for years, the Impian campaigns are a sham. Their own Pakatan Harapan ally – PKR – has shown to the people how sham these campaigns truly are.
