HIGH COMMISSION OF INDIA AND THE INDIAN COMMUNITY IN MALAYSIA FELICITATES INDIAN BADMINTON PLAYERS
The High Commission of India in Kuala Lumpur organised a special welcome reception at the India House on Saturday, July 2, 2022 in honour of the Indian Badminton team who are currently in Malaysia for the Malaysian Open 2022 and other important tournaments.
The event was attended by members of India Community in Malaysia and members of the Consortium of Indian Industries in Malaysia (CIIM) including Dato Umang Sharma, Chairman, CIIM. Deputy President of the Badminton Association of Malaysia, Dato V Subramaniam and Mr. Venu Gopal Mahalingam, Badminton World Federation also attended the reception.
During the event, The Indian Badminton Players including members of the Thomas Cup 2022 winning squad were felicitated by the CIIM and Indian community.
The participating Indian Badminton players included P.V.Sindhu, Saina Nehwal, Prannoy H.S., Chirag Shetty , Kashyap Parupalli, Sai Praneeth, Ashwini Ponnappa, Sikki Reddy, Sumeeth Reddy, Sameer Verma, Shikha Gautham, Ashwini Bhatt. The Singles Head Coach for Thomas Cup winning team, Mr. Siyadath and Dr. Kiran Challagundla, Head Physiotherapist for the Indian Badminton Team & Thomas Cup winning team were also felicitated.
