Chennai: The Golden Jubilee Conference of the World Tamil Cultural Movement was held at DG Vaishnav College, Arumbakkam, Chennai, last Saturday (January 4). P.K. Shanmugam from Malaysia serves as the president of the World Tamil Cultural Movement. Minister for Minorities Welfare and Non-Resident Tamils Welfare, Avadi S.M. Nasar, participated in this celebration and delivered a special address.
During the event, Minister Nasar was presented with the book ‘Anwar Ibrahim: Prison to Prime Minister’ written by R. Mutharasan from Malaysia, which chronicles the political struggles of Malaysia’s 10th Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. The author R. Mutharasan personally presented the book to Minister Nasar. Mr Mallai Sathya, who is both the president of Mallai Tamil Sangam and the Deputy General Secretary of MDMK, was also present during the presentation.
Minister Nasar inquired about the book’s details and was briefed that it has been released in Tamil Nadu coinciding with the ongoing Chennai Book Fair.
The book “Anwar Ibrahim: From Prison to Prime Minister” is available for sale at stall numbers 15 & 16 of ‘Yavarum Publishers’ at the Chennai Book Fair, which began on December 27. The Book fair held at the YMCA grounds in Nandanam, Chennai will continue until 12 January 2025.
