SHAH ALAM, May 27 – The Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, has consented to the state executive council (exco) line-up for the 2013-2018 term, said Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim.
He said following this, the state exco members would be sworn in at Istana Alam Shah, Klang this Thursday at 9.30am.
“I will continue to meet up with the political party representatives from Selangor Pakatan Rakyat after this to inform them of the exco list which the Sultan has given consent,” he said when met by reporters outside the Istana Bukit Kayangan main gate, here, after having an audience with Sultan Sharafuddin.
Abdul Khalid said the Sultan also consented the appointment of the Speaker for the State Legislative Assembly.
Asked whether the exco appointment was made based on the 4:3:3 composition with four from PAS and three each from DAP and Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR), Abdul Khalid said the matter would be announced after the discussions with the Pakatan party representatives.
In the recent 13th general election, the opposition won 44 of the 56 state seats in Selangor, compared to 36 it won in 2008. PKR won 14 seats while DAP and PAS each won 15 seats. Barisan Nasional won 12 seats.
