Senior MACC officer’s house catches fire – arson suspected

KUALA LUMPUR – A two-storey house belonging to a senior officer of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission in Taman Suria Tropika, Seri Kembangan caught fire yesterday and arson is suspected.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director of operations Norizham Mohd Nudin said three fire engines with 15 firemen, from the Serdang and Puchong fire stations, were rushed to the scene after being alerted at 2.37 pm.

The cause of the fire was still under investigation, he said when contacted by Bernama.

Meanwhile, according to a source, when the incident happened,  the officer, who is in his late 30s, was on duty at the MACC headquarters  in Putrajaya while his wife and children had gone back to their kampung.

Sepang police chief Abdul Aziz Ali when contacted by Bernama confirmed receiving a report on the incident.
