Hindu Sangam holds discussion with Deputy Minister of Education on Tamil school curriculum

Putrajaya : Malaysian Hindu Sangam embroiled in a controversy on the debate of Tamil culture against Hinduism held a discussion with Deputy Education Minister Dato’ Dr Mah Hang Soon on Monday (February 22).

The statement posted on the official page of Malaysian Hindu Sangam read as follows :

“MHS (Malaysian Hindu Sangam) had a fruitful discussion with Deputy Minister of KPM (Kementerian Pendidikan Malaysia) Dato’ Dr Mah Hang Soon and KPM officials on the issue of Standard 6 Tamil Book. MHS received favourable feedback from Deputy Minister and KPM official on the content of new Standard 6 Tamil book next year. Consultation with relevant stakeholders will be held to ensure the content of the text book is suitable for our children in Tamil schools. We also had the assurance of Dato Mah that the booklet on Ponggal Celebration prepared by Tamil Mozli Kaapagam will not be distributed to Tamil Schools. MHS would like to thank Dato Mah and his team for the cooperation and support”
