Putra Jaya – In an immediate response to the Federal Court decision today on the MIC-RoS case, MIC President Datuk Seri Dr S.Subramaniam in welcoming the decision said: “It is a great day as the Court of Appeal decision was reversed”.
However, Dr Subra also clarified certain facts of the case and the subsequent Federal Court decision today.
“Our legal counsels felt that despite the 8 Plaintiffs withdrawing the case there was a need for the issue to be addressed at the level of the Federal Court to revisit the decisions of the Court of Appeal. It was a real and serious concern as the Court of Appeal decision could have serious consequences on political parties and government in the future. I am happy that the Federal Court listened to the submissions of the lawyers of the defendants and made a decision to reverse the decision of the Court of Appeal and restore the decision of the High Court” Dr Subra said in his press statement.
